BCAA: Hvad og hvorfor?

BCAA: Mitä ja miksi?

What is BCAA?

BCAA is an abbreviation for branched-chain amino acids. The human body consists of 20 amino acids, of which 12 are non-essential amino acids, meaning the body can produce them on its own. The remaining 8 are essential amino acids. These cannot be produced by the body and must therefore be supplied from external sources.
Most people who train or participate in competitive sports often want to maintain as much muscle mass as possible. Here, BCAA can be a helping hand. Muscles consist of proteins, and proteins are made up of amino acids. You can say that amino acids are the building blocks of proteins.

The advantage of BCAA is that, unlike regular protein powder, BCAA does not have to be broken down in the liver first. Therefore, BCAA is a faster protein source for the muscles.
BCAA has become a very popular dietary supplement among people who train. This is due to the fact that BCAA is quickly and easily broken down in the body. The amino acids enter the bloodstream faster, so the body does not need to process them to the same extent as if one were drinking a protein shake. When consuming BCAA, it is also easier to stimulate new muscle growth, improve your recovery, and prevent muscle cells from breaking down.

When should you take BCAA?

The most optimal time to drink your BCAA is either just before or during training. Since the amino acids are absorbed quickly, they are fully available both during and after training, when muscle tissue needs to be rebuilt. You can also drink BCAA throughout the day. By taking it throughout the day, you maintain protein synthesis in the body. Protein synthesis is the process that occurs in the body when protein is formed from amino acids.

Which BCAA?

Our BCAA from women’s best comes in many different flavors so you can find your favorite. Drink it during training and ideally throughout the day. Mix 1-2 scoops of BCAA with water and shake until blended. The amount of water depends on how strong a flavor you desire.

Women's Best BCAA is mixed in a ratio of 2:1:1 (L-leucine, L-valine, and L-isoleucine). These three amino acids are essential for muscle building, and this ratio is the most optimal amino acid distribution.
Additionally, it contains almost no carbohydrates and is low in kcal.
You cannot consume too much BCAA. The body knows how much it needs, and therefore it excretes the amino acids that it cannot absorb. The excess amino acids are either burned in the body’s system or converted to fat. Therefore, it is not dangerous to consume too many amino acids; you just need to use them wisely like any other dietary supplement.
